Photovoltaikanlagen und Windräder für erneuerbare Energien

What are renewable energies?

Renewable energies such as solar, wind, water, geothermal and biomass use inexhaustible natural resources, are environmentally friendly and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Their use in the home can reduce costs, increase the value of the property and contribute to environmental protection.

How can renewable energies be used for heating?

Renewable energies offer a wide range of environmentally friendly options for heating. Solar energy is used via solar collectors or photovoltaics to heat water or operate heat pumps. Biomass heating systems based on renewable raw materials and heat pumps that use environmental heat are efficient and low-emission heating alternatives. Geothermal energy also offers a continuous heat supply. These technologies reduce dependence on fossil fuels and lower heating costs.

Environmental and financial benefits

Switching to renewable energy to heat your home offers numerous environmental benefits and has a positive impact on our ecosystem. By switching to renewable energy, you significantly reduce your CO2 footprint. This helps to reduce the greenhouse effect and global warming. However, the benefits are not limited to the environment. In the long term, there are also financial benefits, as solar, wind and geothermal energy are not resources that are subject to market price fluctuations. This leads to greater cost certainty and often to considerable savings in heating costs over the years.

Effort and costs of a conversion

The scope of the work required varies depending on the system selected and ranges from the installation of solar modules on the roof to the installation of a heat pump and the integration of a biomass boiler. The investment costs are as varied as the technologies themselves and can range from a few thousand to several tens of thousands of euros.

It should be noted that in addition to the installation costs, any maintenance or operating costs must also be calculated. However, government subsidies and long-term energy savings put the initial outlay into perspective.

Subsidies for renewable energies

As part of the SALZBURG 2050 climate and energy strategy, the Austrian federal government and the state of Salzburg actively support building owners in switching to renewable energy sources. There are also further energy subsidy programs for measures to increase energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies.
