Mondseeland, or lovingly expressed: the pearl of the Salzkammergut, is a very special place to live or spend your holidays. The 12-kilometre-long Mondsee is one of the warmest and at the same time most idyllic lakes in the Salzkammergut. A total of 67 lakes can be visited in the Salzkammergut. The emerald-green Fuschlsee, the famous Wolfgangsee, or the largest in Austria, the Attersee. Each of the lakes has its own characteristics and special features. The Salzkammergut lakes’ own species-rich fish stock and the many regional ingredients of the Salzkammergut further enrich the local food quality and make the region indescribably valuable for the culinary palate. Austrian cuisine is celebrated here with all its delicacies.

The romantic centre of Mondsee is not far from the lakeside itself. Restaurants, bars, coffee houses and guest gardens welcome their guests with hospitality and spoil you with culinary highlights from national and international cuisine. A Roman Catholic basilica not only adorns the local community with its visual appearance, the romantic basilica also attracts visitors with its choir singing.
The municipality of Tiefgraben surrounds the village of Mondsee. St. Lorenz is the smallest of the three communities and is nestled in the landscape on the opposite side, also overlooking the lake.
